About this speaker

Matt Glover is a deeply compassionate counsellor with a diverse background spanning science, church ministry, palliative care, and creative arts. Holding degrees in science, theology, and counselling, Matt brings a unique blend of academic knowledge and lived experience to his work. His years in ministry and palliative care shaped his ability to sit with people through life’s most profound challenges—grief, loss, identity shifts, and spiritual crisis—informing his sensitive and holistic therapeutic approach.

Matt is the Director of MGA Counselling Services, Forest Therapy Victoria, Life Therapies Victoria, and Nature Play 4 Kids. He offers individual and group counselling to children, teens, adults, couples, and older people across Croydon Hills and Warrandyte, with phone and online sessions also available. His areas of focus include trauma, grief, relationships, sexuality and gender, religious harm, high sensitivity, and addiction. He is trained in EMDR, ACT, Gottman Relationship Therapy (Level 3), and more, and offers both supervision and professional training.

A certified Forest Therapy guide and cartoonist, Matt blends creativity, nature, and presence into his work. Outside of counselling, you’ll find him tending to his bonsai or drawing something thoughtful and quirky. As a father of two adult sons, he brings warmth, humility, and real-world insight into everything he does.
